Relief Pitcher
About This Spot
Stepping into the Relief Pitcher feels like sliding into a familiar story you didn’t quite realize you wanted to be part of. Tucked away on South Roosevelt Drive in Seaside, this bar & grill is an inviting blend of comfort and character, where the pace slows just enough to let you settle in among regulars and new faces alike. The air hums softly with easy conversation, punctuated by the occasional clink of glasses, while the well-worn wood and simple décor quietly tell tales of many years spent welcoming locals and travelers looking for a genuine spot to unwind.
The atmosphere moves between cozy and lively with a relaxed confidence, the kind that invites lingering over a plate or a carefully mixed drink without any rush. Beyond the bar, a spacious fenced backyard offers off-leash play for dogs, a thoughtful touch that adds to the laid-back, inclusive vibe. Here, it’s just as natural to catch up with a friend over an expertly crafted cocktail — perhaps the smooth Honey Lemon Drop or a fresh Midori-Mosa — as it is to enjoy a quiet meal made with the kind of care that’s easy to notice in every bite.
Food at the Relief Pitcher carries a welcoming, made-with-love feeling rather than anything flashy — hearty sandwiches, robust burgers, and comforting soups that nod to classic flavors but always with a twist that keeps things interesting. Whether you’re savoring a warm French dip, indulging in a pastrami Reuben with perfectly tangy slaw, or sharing a basket of crispy calamari, the menu feels like an extension of the community itself: genuine, satisfying, and made for slowing down a little.
This is a place where the bartenders know your name and the owner might stop by your table to say hello, adding a quiet layer of connection that makes the experience richer. It’s not just a stop for a drink or a meal; it’s a spot that anchors an afternoon or evening, lifting wandering spirits with honest food, straightforward drinks, and an atmosphere warmed by familiar faces and canine companions alike.

Stopped here for some dinner while visiting seaside with my family. All the food reviews were very positive and I FULLY agree. We got the French dip, and the pastrami reuben. They were both fantastic. And the bartender Lisa is so sweet, she was very welcoming and made our semi stressful trip not so stressful lol. 100% recommend if you want a warm sandwich and a good drink. Also Mike the owner is sweet too! Enjoyed conversation with him as well.

This place is a gem. Yes a dive bar, but one that is around for a reason. From the fresh squeezed juice to the home made sauces you will definitely be pleased with whatever you order. The cocktail sauce is how cocktail sauce should be, ( and I did not even realize it needed extras) Definitely stop next time you are kid free and can step back to simpler times.

A funky bar with daily soup specials. Good soup. There is a large back area that is fenced and you can have your dogs. The dogs can be off leash and play in the big backyard. There’s a pass-through window so you can get drinks and your food from inside to your outside area very easily. Staff is friendly the owner is usually there and he’s also friendly. The food is better than what you would expect. There are video lottery games and Keno. The entire facility is a bit dated but that makes it kind of cool because you don’t feel like it’s pretentious. If it’s a sunny day and you have a dog you should visit the Relief Pitcher. Local people call it the RP.

The server was friendly and the food came out fast! The calamari strips were so good! The Grand Slam was “the best” according to my husband! You definitely get what you pay for!

Old establishment… but that’s what makes this a great place. Definitely has it regulars. The Tuna steak was huge and only ordered a half. It’s a must try. Food and drinks are reasonably priced.

This is a bar with character and spirit! Food is fabulous, unexpectedly. Seriously,Homemade Soup. The Ruben Sandwich is epic. Try the Tuna Steak Ruben, it will soon be your craving. The cold sandwich is a surprise at how hard it is to wrap your mouth around. Burgers are always cooked to perfection and the to lettuce and tomato are fresh and not out of a precut box. If your afraid of a dive bar, here is your chance to realize that good food, people and service don't need matching chairs.

Old school tavern with great drinks and fabulous food. Fresh squeezed juice cocktails, hand pressed burgers and fresh cut fries. The Grand Slam was best burger I've had in years. Ruben was good but pastrami had strong smoke flavor, not as good as the Goose but if you like smoke you'll enjoy it. Oh and very friendly staff.

Update: We stopped in on our way to seaside. Robin, you are a gem. Great drinks and the food is always fantastic. Thank you for your service! Stopped in for a quick beer and bite. GREAT CHOWDER. AND SHRIMP. Both are meaty and tasty. Friendly staff.. lots of Tv's for sports watching.
